The name, Ras Dumisani seems to be on the tips of every South African’s tongue. Unfortunately not in a good way- the singer who is said to have mutilated the SA National Anthem at Toulouse Stadium in France last Friday saw fans in fits of laughter and some far from happy Springbok players.
Lock and vice- captain Victor Matfield said, “It was a joke out there. The guys couldn’t sing along to it and even the crowd were starting to laugh. It was very disappointing.”
Dumisani, a native of Durban who is now based in France, denies that he mutilated the anthem, “No one told me they were upset with the singing,” he said. “In fact, someone just came up to me and told me how beautifully I had sung.”
